Top 5 NHL GPP Stacks for Thursday, December 8

Evgeni Malkin

There are 10 games on the NHL schedule tonight and both DraftKings and FanDuel are offering some excellent contests to take part in. The best strategy to score big in these tournaments is to roster players that often skate together. When one scores, there is likely to be correlation as linemates are usually picking up assists. This correlation is usually the key to producing the big scores that are needed to top a large field.

Top 5 NHL Stacks for December 8

The Stack: C Evgeni Malkin, W Phil Kessel, W Carl Hagelin

Expected ownership: Medium

We picked againt the Panthers on Tuesday night with the Flyers' two scoring lines and they semi delivered, and we are once again back picking against the Panthers, who are returning home after a lengthy six-game road trip where they went 1-2-3. This will also be their 3rd game in 4 nights, while the Pens come in relatively rested after being off since Monday.

The Panthers should be a bit sluggish out of the gate after expending a ton of energy against the Flyers, so ride the hot Pens team coming off of an 8-goal game. Multiple lines are in play, but we prefer Malkin flanked by two speedy wingers.

The Stack: C Aleksander Barkov, W Jaromir Jagr, W Reilly Smith

Expected ownership: Low

The Penguins haven't exactly been great in net lately, having given up 24 goals over their past 6 games, so we'll be on both sides of this game.

This Panthers unit has been playing well, as Barkov has scored in 3 of his last 4 games, and Jagr has goals in 2 of his past 5. Reilly Smith is likely to be the third on the line tonight, but keep an eye on the status of Jonathan Marchessault.

The Stack: C Patrice Bergeron, W Brad Marchand, W David Pastrnak

Expected ownership: Medium

It's been tough sledding for the Avs lately, who have gone 0-5-1 in their past 6 games. The Bruins will be playing on the back end of a back-to-back, but after charging back from a 3-0 deficit last night in Washington to salvage a point in an OT loss, their confidence should be high and they should be able to take it to a fragile Avs team that is seeing its season slip away.

While Patrice Bergeron has had a slow start to his season, linemates Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak have picked up the slack. They have points in three straight and that should continue tonight.

The Stack: C Tyler Seguin, W Antoine Roussel, W Patrick Eaves

Expected ownership: Low

The Stars have struggled this season with inconsistent play and a lackluster offense for what was expected to be among the league's best again.

However, they had the Predators number in Dallas last season, wining all three meetings by a combined score of 13-4. Maybe that will carry over to this season, maybe it won't, but the Predators just don't bring their A game when they visit Big D, so we'll hope tonight is one of those high octane nights for the Stars and their offense.

The Stack: C Martin Hanzal, W Tobias Rieder, W Radim Vrbata

Expected ownership: Low

The Coyotes are back to their losing ways, having gone 0-3-2 in their past 5 games. The Flames, on the other hand, have been playing well, having won 4 in a row and 6 of 8. Therefore, the Flames will be quite chalky in this one.

We'll pivot to the other side and go with the Yotes, hoping goalie Mike Smith can limit the Flames offensive attack and the estimated 15-25% ownership they'll have.
