Top 5 NHL GPP Stacks for Tuesday, December 13

Vladimir Tarasenko
Vladimir Tarasenko

There are 10 games on the NHL schedule tonight and both DraftKings and FanDuel are offering some excellent contests to take part in. The best strategy to score big in these tournaments is to roster players that often skate together. When one scores, there is likely to be correlation as linemates are usually picking up assists. This correlation is usually the key to producing the big scores that are needed to top a large field.

Top 5 NHL Stacks for December 13

The Stack: W Jaden Schwartz, W Robby Fabbri, W Vladimir Tarasenko

Expected ownership: Low

We like the Blues for the potential that Vladimir Tarasenko (and his linemates) has to put up a huge game. He has 3 or more points in 2 of his past 6 games and while on the surface this doesn't look like a great matchup, the Predators and goalie Pekka Rinne have been playing poorly. The Preds have allowed 3 or more goals in 7 straight games, and Rinne has been particularly bad. In 4 starts this month, he has a save percentage of .843 and a goals against average of 4.55. Rinne has been streaky this season, so try to catch him while one of his down stretches is still in effect.

This newly constructed line consists of the three forwards on the Blues who have the most points, and we think they'll post terrific numbers together.

The Stack: C Jack Eichel, W Evander Kane, W Kyle Okposo, D Rasmus Ristolainen

Expected ownership: Low

The Kings haven't been good on the road this season, sporting a 4-7-1 record away from the Staples Center. While the Sabres haven't been good at home with a 5-6-3 record, we like their chances at putting up a few goals tonight. They are relatively rested, having not played since Friday. The last time they had three days between games, they exploded for 5 goals and a similar outing could be in store tonight for the Kane-Eichel-Okposo line tonight, but we also like the combination of O'Reilly and Reinhart.

The Stack: C Nicklas Backstrom, W Marcus Johansson, W TJ Oshie, W Alex Ovechkin (power play)

Expected ownership: Medium

The Islanders stunned the Caps two weeks ago, beating them 3-0 in Washington. That game was a bit of a wake up call for the Caps, as they've won 4 of 5 since then. With the standings so tight in the Metropolitan division, the Caps realize they can't not show up for games like the one earlier this month. They'll be motivated to take it to the team that recently shut them out, and the Johansson-Backstrom-Oshie unit is the way to go as they also play together on the power play with Ovechkin.

The Stack: C Ryan Getzlaf, W Corey Perry, D Cam Fowler, D Sami Vatanen

Expected ownership: Low

The Stars' morale right now is quite low. They were on the verge of ending the Flyers' winning streak on Saturday with a lead late in the game, but gave up the the tying and winning goals late in the game after taking penalties. They followed that up with a loss the following day also, and are left questioning if they can salvage their season. Their once mighty offense is now just middle of the pack at 15th in the NHL, while their goals against is dead last.

Tonight the Ducks come into town with the league's 3rd best power play, and that should be able to do some damage against the league's 27th ranked penalty kill. We like the Ducks lineup up and down tonight.

The Stack: C Henrik Sedin, W Daniel Sedin, W Jannik Hansen

Expected ownership: Low

The Canucks may be considered by many to be the worst team in the league, but they've been been playing respectable hockey of late. They are 5-5 in their past 10 games, and thoroughly crushed the Lightning last week 5-1, so the potential for putting up goals is there.

While they followed that up with losses to the Panthers and Caps, they were pretty good in both games, and they'll be facing a Hurricanes team tonight that is playing their first game back the California road trip and could be caught off guard by the Canucks, much like the Lightning were.
