Top 5 NHL GPP Stacks for Tuesday, December 27

There are 10 games on the NHL schedule tonight and both DraftKings and FanDuel are offering some excellent contests to take part in. The best strategy to score big in these tournaments is to roster players that often skate together. When one scores, there is likely to be correlation as linemates are usually picking up assists. This correlation is usually the key to producing the big scores that are needed to top a large field.

Top 5 NHL Stacks for December 27

The Stack: C Alexander Wennberg, W Nick Foligno, W Brandon Saad (even strength), W Cam Atkinson (power play)

Expected ownership: Low

Aside from the Blue Jackets being on a 12-game winning streak, the last time they were thoroughly crushed in a game was to these Bruins in Boston in early November. The Bruins jumped all over Jackets goalie Sergei Bobrovsky and chased him, so the Jackets will be looking to return the favor.

The Jackets own the league's best power play and even though the Bruins boast the third best penalty kill, we'll take the red hot Jackets in this one at what should be low ownership.

The Stack: C Kyle Turris, W Ryan Dzingel, W Bobby Ryan

Expected ownership: Low

In two games last week, the Rangers gave up an astounding 14 goals. Granted, they played the explosive Penguins and the Wild (who have won 10 straight). Regardless, giving up that many goals in two games is inexcusable. Obviously the goaltending was shoddy, but the team defense was equally at fault. Combined with the fact that their best defensive forward (Rick Nash) is likely to continue to be out of the lineup with a groin injury, and we just don't trust this team to have figured things out in just one day of practice since the short Holiday break started.

The Sens are on nice streak of four consecutive wins, with 15 goals in that span. This trio has had a hand in the scoring in each game and tonight should be no different against the slumping Rangers.

The Stack: C Martin Hanzal, W Radim Vrbata, W Tobias Rieder, D Oliver Ekman-Larsson

Expected ownership: Low

The Dallas Stars have struggled on the road this season, with just 4 wins in 17 games away from Dallas. In those 17 games, they have given up 64 goals. For comparison's sake, they have won 10 of 18 at home and have only allowed 42 goals in those 18 games.

The bottom line is that the Stars are an immensely worse road team this season, and this is a game where as usual, the masses will target the Coyotes with their opponent. While the Yotes have a lackluster 6 wins in 14 home games this season, they have given up 43 goals in that span. It's not a great number, but with majority of DFSers out there likely to be on the Stars tonight, we'll go the other way with the Coyotes and trust that the Stars' road woes will continue.

The Stack: C Jack Eichel, W Evander Kane, W Kyle Okposo

Expected ownership: Low

The Holiday break came at a great time for the Sabres, who were mired in a 4-game losing streak. Making matters worse was that the losses came to the Panthers, Islanders, and Hurricanes twice, all teams that Sabres are on an equal level with.

Still, this line warrants being rostered tonight. The Red Wings defense is average at best, and their goaltending is suspect without the injured Jimmy Howard. As for the Sabres, Jack Eichel has been struggling with no points in his last 5 games. Evander Kane has been bumped up to his left wing to help jumpstart the electric second-year pro, and we think that could lead to a boost to Eichel's numbers, making this line a very solid option tonight.

The Stack: C Ryan Getzlaf, W Corey Perry, W Rickard Rakell

Expected ownership: Low

The Sharks and Ducks tend to play low scoring and tight games. This will be their 4th time meeting this season with the results being a 2-1 OT win for the Sharks, and two 3-2 wins for the Ducks. Rakell has only played in the two Duck victories, and has factored into the scoring in both games with a goal in each. With much of the attention tonight likely to be elsewhere, this is a game that offers some excellent potential if either team's top lines can go off, at what should be very low ownership. The Ducks second line of Cogliano-Kesler-Silfverberg is a good option tonight as well, as is the Sharks' top unit of Marleau-Thornton-Pavelski with Brent Burns.
