Every week, the NBA’s most dominant players will compete for a spot in Fantasy Wired’s Best Team Ever line-up.
For the week spanning January 13th through January 19th, your fantasy team likely dominated the competition if you had one or more of these players on your roster.
Best Team Ever: Last Week’s Top Fantasy Basketball Producers
PG: John Wall, Washington WizardsWeek 12 Stats: 25.2 PPG, 8.2 APG, 4.5 RPG
Wall is in the midst of a full on break-out season, and week's like this serve as a reminder to how dangerous he can be. Wall's recent aggressiveness on offense can only be seen as a positive thing, as he's been putting up more and more shots and doing so in an efficient manner. The third-year guard had a few spectacular games last week, but 34-point effort against the Pistons was particularly dominant. He hit 15 of 23 shots in that contest, to go along with six assists and two three-pointers.
SG: Paul George, Indiana PacersWeek 12 Stats: 30.6 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 13 Three-Pointers Made, One Insane Dunk
George posted two 30-point performances this week as the Pacers went 3-0, but his most impressive feat was the in-game, 360-dunk he slammed home against the Clippers. That highlight is going to make the rounds on SportsCenter for the next 20 years and it highlighted another awesome week from the MVP-candidate. Besides his demolition of the the Clippers on Saturday, George also posted 31 and 25 points against the Knicks and Kings, respectively.
SF: Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City ThunderWeek 12 Stats: 39.2 PPG, 6.5 APG, 4.7 RPG
Durant has put the Thunder on his back and led them to a 7-5 record since Russell Westbrook went down with a knee injury. With no other explosive scorers on the roster, Durant has transformed into an offensive juggernaut, and taken his fantasy value into another stratosphere in the process. Durant put up gaudy numbers throughout the week, but his 54-point, six-assist effort will be talked about for quite some time. It was one of the more impressive scoring feats in recent memory as Durant looked straight up un-guardable for most of the night.
PF: Terrence Jones, Houston RocketsWeek 12 Stats: 22.2 PPG, 11 RPG, 3 BPG
Jones' awesome week included three double-doubles, a six-block performance, and the two best scoring efforts of his young career. Jones put up a career-high 25 points on Wednesday, only to come back on Saturday night to torch the Bucks for 36 more. He also put up plenty of rebounds, steals and blocks this week and is one of the more versatile fantasy big men around. Jones has locked up his role as the Rockets' starting power forward and has tons of fantasy potential on a nightly basis.
C: Joakim Noah, Chicago BullsWeek 12 Stats: 16 PPG, 15.7 RPG, 4.5 APG
Noah has double-doubled in 12 straight games (a career high) and has played inspired basketball ever since the team dealt away Luol Deng. He put up some monster rebounding performances last week and also chipped in some great scoring and defensive numbers. Noah's 26-point, 19-rebound, 6-assist effort against the Magic was one of the more awesome fantasy displays you'll see all season, and could be duplicated by very few big men in the game today.
Sixth-Man: James Johnson, Memphis GrizzliesWeek 12 Stats: 8.6 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 4 APG, 3.3 BPG
Not many players could make our list averaging under 10 points per game, but Johnson is well worth a spot on this last thanks to his incredibly versatile production. Johnson can impact the game in many ways, and is capable of putting up big fantasy box scores even when he's not putting up huge scoring numbers. Johnson's across-the-board production was on full display against the Bucks last week, as he torched them for 15 points, 6 blocks, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and a three-pointer.
